Today is the birthday of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. If you are not familiar with his life and work I promise you it would be well worth familiarize yourself with it.

In some recent posts surrounding the Bill Nye vs. Ken Ham(Evolution vs. Creation) debate I looked at how our worldview influences the way we hold tight to what we believe is right or wrong (regardless of how well we can actually prove it).

In light of that I want to repurpose two popular Bonhoeffer quotes that may help us reevaluate the underlying motivations beneath our stances.

I hope these are thought provoking for you as they were me.

“A God who let us prove his existence would be an idol”

"God does not love some ideal person, but rather human beings just as we are, not some ideal world, but rather the real world."
