The truth is there is way too much content, way too little time to absorb it, and nobody cares. The obvious choice is to ignore almost everything. Ten years ago I remember having conversations about current television ads. Today I couldn't be a part of that conversation nor would I want to. Why? Because I now have the option to watch/hear/read only what directly interests me.
On the other hand artists, writers, and entrepreneurs now have more platforms than ever to be heard... but no one is listening. Well, almost no one. Only the people who are interested in you are listening. Everyone doesn't have to. So they don't.
So how do you get people interested in you and whatever it is you do? Do something interesting. Remarkable. Seriously, do something worth talking about. Otherwise you will be ignored. Just good middle of the road content is boring. Almost anyone can do it. If what you do isn't remarkable nobody will care.
Remarkable is my business model. Not everyone loves Summer Snow, but those who do talk about it. ALOT. It is what I love about Jacob's Well church. It why I promote the Heavens to Betsy band. Its what is so amazing about Camp Ridgecrest for Boys. Yes, I have connections to all these, but trust me I wouldn't keep those connections or bother talking about them if they didn't produce Great Content. Be Remarkable.
